We have come a long way from our sunny days in Wickenburg, Arizona and relocated last year to America's Heartland. After 10 years of hot, hotter, and hottest, the four season climate is a brisk change, but we love it.

Our family's big news is my husband's recent emergency surgery to remove an acoustic neuroma, a brain tumor that became an emergent health issue in October of 2011. We are wending our way through all of the issues surrounding the brain tumor. But the surgery was a success and we are counting our many blessings. I share bits and pieces of this experience in a new series of hubs that I am currently writing.

On HubPages, I hope you will enjoy sharing my passion for the American West and children's literature. During the last 3 years I've written over 50 hubs about sharing children's books in a library, preschool or home setting, including over 40 children's book reviews. My series of month-by-month reading lists are designed for storytime presenters, teachers, or parents looking for books on subject-related themes. Some of the links on the reading lists are disabled for now, as I was updating them when our life was interrupted rather abruptly. My apologies.

My western hubs are a little more eclectic, and range from collecting antique saloon tokens, types of cowboys, western art, literature of the American West, and a Day in the Life Sonoran Desert. If you are headed out to Arizona, please view some of my travel recommendations.

HubPages is a great opportunity to earn passive income while writing about my favorite topics. Read why I love writing on HubPages, or  Join HubPages Now!
